Gandevi Taluka Seva Trust is pleased to declare that it is the sole organization fighting for the development of our nation. And the credit goes to all Gandevian living in Gandevi and surrounding villages, who has added a Golden page in a 3000 years' history of Gandevi by establishing this organization to help people of Gandevi for Education, Health, Food, and Humanity without discrimination on any cast, creed, class, age, or socioeconomic status.
Gandevi Taluka Seva Trust is unique as compared to other organizations for the following reasons:
1. Only organization whose activities are not limited to a particular community or religion.
2. Clarity of mission that permeates the entire organization, from leadership down to the villager. It is rare for an entity to have clear focus.
3. Emphasis on improvement and measurement. GTST constantly evaluates the benefits and pitfalls of the executed projects for future improvements.
4. Complete transparency and accountability of the funds utilized for executing the projects with less than 2% spending on administration
In a short span of Twelve years, our team has accomplished the following projects, with limited monetary funds and help of All Gandevians & Friends. It is outstanding and encouraging for all of us.
To help economically weaker and needy students from Gandevi and surrounding villages by imparting quality education, we started coaching classes (Project Suvidha), because they cannot afford private tuitions due to poverty and lack of support from home in studies. This project saved many drop-outs after 8th grade and also reducing child labor. This project gained wide spread importance and we have to deny many students because of limited resources in terms of space and funding. We have 46 students for grade 9th and 45 students for grade 10th during academic year 2023-24
We provide financial assistance to poor and needy students studying in college. We provide financial assistance like paying fees, buying books and going to college. A total of 2 to 3 lakh rupees is given to the students every year.
Career Awareness Camps are organized from time to time for students of class 10th and 12th.Along with this, an incentive camp is also organized.
Poor and needy patients (especially from villages) suffer a lot due to non-availability of proper equipment to transport them to hospital/dispensary in emergency. Many patients struggle with the lack of equipment such as a medical-bed or walker at home after being brought home from the hospital. The above mentioned equipments are maintained at Swasti Hospital by Ganadevi Taluka Seva Trust. Any patient can borrow the equipment by paying a nominal monthly rent. This project has helped many patients.
Candidates for public sector employment such as postal, banking, railway, and local self-government must pass a competitive examination followed by a personal interview. Many candidates are unfamiliar with competitive examinations, so we established coaching programs with the assistance of Premier Carrier Institute. This is a really important tool for candidates to stay motivated and prepare for job-oriented exams.
a. Time to time, meetings with parents and students of 10th class are organized to give feedback about their children’s education.Affordable "healthcare" is becoming increasingly impossible over the world. Many people in Gandevi and surrounding villages die due to financial constraints, lack of knowledge about diseases, and inadequate diagnostic and treatment options. Thousands of patients have received medical aid for diagnosis and treatment in Gandevi and surrounding villages over the last eleven years thanks to the generosity of many benefactors. We offered specialised diagnostic medical camps, such as 1) Eye camps 2) Diabetes and heart disorder 3) Cancer 4) Women's Gynecology Camp 5) Thyroid Camp and 6) Amputee Mobility Camp. Though the government is doing a lot to give medical assistance, much more effort is needed in terms of health education awareness and illness management.
We learned a lot from the follow-up patients who attended our medical camps. Many people were suffering from chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and knee pain. It is difficult to treat these patients. Knowing the benefits of YOGA for such chronic diseases, we began Yoga teachings for all on March 16, 2015, and they continue throughout the year between 7.00am and 8.00am, with extremely positive outcomes. Every day, approximately 60-70 people take advantage of this program.
The Covid-19 pandemic touched the majority of the world's countries, including India. Many people, particularly daily wage workers, small farmers, and the general public, were suffering greatly as a result of the epidemic and required assistance. Members of the Gandevi Taluka Seva Trust stepped forward immediately to assist them during this unexpected crisis, establishing a Janseva Clinic where all patients are checked by an MBBS medical expert and free medicines are distributed. Over 14000 patients have benefited from this program over the last three years. Dr. Ridham Roy (MBBS), Dr. Piyush Vaidya, an Orthopedist, and Dr. Jalpa Patel, MD (Dermatologist), also provide free consultations and medications to low-income and needy patients once a week.
After twelve years of experience, we have come to the conclusion that most people in towns and cities are unaware of a wide range of illnesses. We therefore began holding public awareness seminars on specialist medical, social welfare, public and personnel cleanliness, and environmental themes in order to educate the people. We find speakers for specific topics and travel to other towns to hold seminars, and this is really beneficial.
